The short version

  • We collect one thing: the email address you type into our form.
  • We use it to send you the free sheet and Plain Print emails.
  • We do not sell it, rent it or share it with insurance companies, agents or brokers.
  • We will never ask for your Medicare number, Social Security number or bank details.
  • Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and the emails stop.

Who we are

Plain Print is an independent educational project that explains Medicare in plain language. It is run from Quebec, Canada. We are not affiliated with Medicare, CMS or any government agency, and we do not sell or recommend insurance plans.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, age, address, phone number, health details, plan details, Medicare number or Social Security number. Please do not send them to us.

Why we collect it

To send you the sheet you asked for, and to send you Plain Print emails about Medicare. You agree to this when you submit the form. You can change your mind at any time.

Who holds your information

We use a small number of outside services to run this site. Each one handles your information only to do its job for us.

These companies may store information outside Quebec and outside Canada, including in the United States.

Cookies and tracking

Our own pages have no advertising trackers and no analytics scripts. The sign-up form and Google reCAPTCHA may set their own cookies so the form works and spam is blocked.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, our email service keeps a record of your address marked as unsubscribed, so that we do not email you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete it completely, we will.

Our videos

Our videos are on YouTube. When you watch, comment or subscribe there, Google's own privacy policy applies. We will never ask for personal details in YouTube comments.
